Abstract: Penicillin allergy can be risk stratified in the hospital or outpatient setting to identify low-, moderate-, and high-risk phenotypes. Following ascertainment of risk, dedicated penicillin allergy testing strategies can be deployed successfully for each risk type-direct oral challenge (low risk), skin testing and oral challenge (moderate risk), and specialist review and/or skin testing (high risk).
