Abstract: We wish to congratulate Louvet et al. on their significant contribution to the literature surrounding the important issue of acute liver injury caused by therapeutic acetaminophen (APAP) dosing (1). Their paper highlights that this syndrome invariably occurs in one of three clinical situations: Excessive alcohol intake, fasting ≥1 day and malnutrition, and typically occurs with prolonged APAP ingestion.
