Abstract: Staphylococcus aureus is associated with significant mortality and increased burden on the healthcare system. Relatively few reliable estimates are available regarding the impact of meticillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) infection compared with meticillin-susceptible S. aureus (MSSA) infection.
